A former Uganda Airlines pilot has been recruited to fly the newly acquired presidential jet, which arrived in the country on December 23.
Capt. Dan Musinguzi has reportedly already trained on the Gulf Stream 4 Special Performance jet.
Sources said he was among the best pilots in the airline. Musinguzi joins Brig. Ali Kiiza, the chief presidential pilot and Capt. Patrick Bogere, his co-pilot, who have been flying President Yoweri Museveni for over 10 years.
Musinguzi, who was a pilot on the Boeing 737-300, flew with the jet's crew from Georgia, Savannah in the USA. Gulf Stream AeroSpace Corporation assembled the jet. Since 1994, efforts to recruit another presidential pilot were unsuccessful.
