By Grace Matsiko and Eddie Ssejjoba ANOTHER group of presidential candidate Dr. Col Kizza Besigye's supporters was shot at by unknown people at Kabalungi village on the Masaka-Mbarara highway on Monday night. Two of Besigye's supporters, Boaz Musinguzi and Mark Zire, who were travelling in a hired Perfect Transport Company bus, were seriously injured. The rest suffered minor injuries. A woman only identified as Migyeshera suffered shock and is admitted to Nyakibale Hospital in Rukungiri. The supporters were returning to Rukungiri from Kampala at around 10.00p.m after Besigye's nomination at Kololo Airstrip. On Monday morning, unknown gunmen shot at Besigye's team which was hanging posters around the city. No arrests have been made. Besigye's campaign office co-ordinator, Louis Otika, and another official, Richard Bashaija, said they were concerned about the attacks on their supporters. They appealed to the Police to bring to an end the violence and arrest the culprits. Masaka Police said about eight armed men in uniforms similar to those of the army, staged a roadblock at Kabalungi, near Mbirizi. Their first victims were not part of Besigye's group. The District Police Commander, Moses Etuu, said the thugs robbed Wilson Ateekateeka of Uganda Revenue Authority, Mbarara Branch, his colleague, Abdul Kalenoka, a student of Mbarara University, and a policeman, Twesigye. The thugs grabbed their truck and used it to ferry their loot. Etuu said three buses carrying Besigye's supporters later fell in the ambush. Etuu said the thugs sped off towards Masaka in the URA truck. The Police later escorted Besigye's team to Mbarara town. Ends.
