Appologise, Justice told

JUDGES are demanding for an apology from the Supreme Court Judge, Justice George Kanyei-hamba, over a statement he made against, the Deputy Chief Justice, Laetitia Mukasa Kikonyongo, The New Vision has learnt.

By Juliet Nankinga JUDGES are demanding for an apology from the Supreme Court Judge, Justice George Kanyei-hamba, over a statement he made against, the Deputy Chief Justice, Laetitia Mukasa Kikonyongo, The New Vision has learnt. Justice Kanyeihamba admitted writing an anonymous letter accusing Kikonyogo of being incompetent and unfit for the post. Kanyeihamba, following a Judicial meeting last Friday, refused to apologise and stood by his words contained in a the document. The anonymous letter by "Concerned Members of the Judiciary" was addressed to the appointment Committee of Parliament and circulated among MPs protesting the nomination of Kikonyongo. The Judges condemned the writing and issuance of anonymous letters to the media In a statement from the Chief Registrar, Stephen Musota, the judges described Kanyeiham-ba's conduct as cowardly, unethical and highly unbecoming of a judge.
