By Edith Kimuli The remains of the Nakaseke County MP, Pascal Mukasa were yesterday buried at Kiwanga, Seeta, Mukono district. Mukasa, 57, died Friday at Mulago Hospital of respiratory failure. The burial was attended by the Prime Minister, Apolo Nsibambi, who represented the Government. Several ministers, Chief Justice Wako Wambuzi and MPs were among hundreds of mourners. Earlier, at a funeral service at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero, Nsibambi praised the late MP for his contribution to the modernisation of the Uganda Posts and Tele Communication. Mukasa was managing director of the corporation from 1986 to 1994. Nsibambi described him as a strong and versatile manager. He said in Parliament, Mukasa was a "clarifier" on management issues. Nsibambi also said Mukasa had continued to attend Parliament "even when his health was failing, adding, "He died when working." Parliament Speaker Francis Ayume said Parliament would miss Mukasa, especially his "vibrant and articulate contributions." He regretted that five MPs had passed away in the last year. The service was led by Church of Uganda Archbishop Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo. Ends.
