Alcohol-free beer a brilliant idea, Nile Breweries!
SIR-I would like to thank Nile Breweries Limited for introducing a new soda, BB soda.
SIR-I would like to thank Nile Breweries Limited for introducing a new soda, BB soda.
However, much as I have not yet physically seen or tested the soda, I have seen pictures of it in the newspapers with a packaging of brown bottles entirely similar to those of beer, especially Chairman's ESB.
In my view, much as it is said to be a no-alcoholic soda, people who do not want to be associated with alcohol (Muslims like myself and born-again Christians) will certainly not feel comfortable drinking soda from such beer bottles because they may as well be mistaken to be drinking alcohol.
There is also a deceptive element in which our children can appear to be drinking a soft drink when in fact they are consuming alcohol.
For a fact, it would be a shame, if not an insult, for a staunch Muslim to be seen drinking from such a beer bottle.
My appeal, therefore, is that Nile Breweries should rethink the packaging of that new product which many of us may wish to taste, but are currently constrained by its insensitive packaging.
