By Emmy Allio and Agencies THE Democratic Republic of Congo minister delegate for defence, Godefroid Tcham'lesso, yesterday accused Uganda, Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville of organising the assassination of President Laurent Kabila. "This attack, which took place less than 24 hours ago, was ordered by Uganda, Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville," said Tcham'lessso yesterday. The minister, on an official visit to Tripoli, Libya, appealed to "the Congolese people to prepare for vengeance." Uganda has denied masterminding Kabila's death on Tuesday. Kabila was reportedly killed by his bodyguard. State minister for foreign affairs in charge regional cooperation Amama Mbabazi said, "It is a lie. Uganda does not ascribe to the policy of killing its political opponents." Diplomatic sources yesterday said three names are being considered by the deceased president's executive to rule the country. These are the chief of staff, Col. Endy Kapendi, Joseph Kabila (son of the late President who is also the deputy chief of staff) and another Katangese politician. Authorities in Kinshasa said Joseph Kabila is the interim leader as state radio and television said Kabila was still alive. Ends.
