Kinshasa bombs town

KAMPALA - Only hours after Jean Pierre Bemba, the leader of Congolese Liberation Front declared a unilateral ceasefire, government forces dropped six bombs from an Antonov plane on the town of Basankusu. "As a good gesture to the new rulers in Kinshasa, we have declared a unilateral ceasefire," Bemba told The New Vision. But the northeastern Congo town of Basankusu came under bombing raids by government forces using Mbandaka Airport. Ends.
