DR. Philip Ociba, the Director of Animal Resources, is dead. He died in Mulago Hospital on Saturday at the age of 55, Charles Wendo and Gilbert Awekofua report.
DR. Philip Ociba, the Director of Animal Resources, is dead. He died in Mulago Hospital on Saturday at the age of 55, Charles Wendo and Gilbert Awekofua report.
Ociba was on Friday afternoon returned in a coma from Arusha where he had gone to attend the launching of the East African Community. His doctors detected celebral malaria with liver and kidney complications.
He is survived by a widow and seven children. Relatives yesterday said funeral arrangements would be announced later. Mourners are gathered at the late Ociba's house at Plot 45, Princess Anne Drive in Bugolobi. Ociba was born in Zeu county, Nebbi district.
He obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at the Unversity of Nairobi and a Masters degree from the University of Edinburgh. Scotland, UK.
Ociba was a board member of the National Drug Authority.
