THE Buganda Government has set up a mixed day and boarding secondary school at Seeta, 16 kilometres on the Kampala-Jinja highway, writes Vision Reporter. Seeta High School is an Ordinary and Advanced level vocational secondary school with capacity to take in 500 students. The director of the school who is also the Mengo minister of education and sports, Chrysostom Muyingo, said the school is under direct supervision of the Buganda ministry of education and sports. Muyingo said the high quality school was set up to cater for the many students who need quality education and also to help some of the students who have joined the school but were being sponsored by the Kabaka Education Fund. "The school's mission is to promote acquisition of knowledge, develop discipline, life skills and spiritual values. We embrace all religions," Muyingo said. He said, "We train our students to become good thinkers and speakers through debating clubs." Advanced Level subjects taught are General Paper, History, Geography, Economics, Divinity, Luganda, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Sub-Maths and Art and Crafts. Vocational subjects taught are Home Economics, Tailoring, Woodwork andCarpentry, Metal Fabrication and Computer Science. The school opened on Monday. Ends
