GREENHill Academy has for the second year running, emerged best performing school in Kampala, a New Vision survey has revealed.
Of the 121 candidates who did the 2000 Primary Leaving Examinations from the centre, 117, passed in first grade and the rest in second grade.
Sir Apollo primary school also maintained its second position, according to the performance index of large entry schools computed by the New Vision. The school had 53 of the 60 candidates in first grade and the rest in second grade.
Uganda Martyrs Girl's Primary School, Namugongo, came third with 110 of the 126 candidates passing in grade one and the other 16 in second grade.
City Parents School which last year ranked second came forth with 136 first grades and 21 second grades.
It was followed by St. Savio Kisubi with 53 of the 69 candidates obtaining first grade and the rest in second grade.
Buganda Road Primary school which last year came 10th this year climbed to the sixth position with 195 of the 321 candidates obtaining first grade, 122 in second grade, 5 in third grade and one in fourth.
Nakasero primary school, which produced the best candidate in Kampala, had 99 candidates of the 355 in first grade, 141 in second grade, 11 in third grade and four in fourth grade.
Lake Victoria then followed with 43 candidates of 96 in first grade and 53 in second grade.
Although Shimoni Demonstration School had 265 first grades, it could not be ranked because the other figures could not be obtained.
Kitante Primary School had 98 of the 195 in first grade 78 second grade, 7 in third grade and five in fourth grade. Two candidates at the school were ungraded.
