Vision Draw Winner Gets Sh0.6m, Hails The Sponsors

THE winner of the first New Vision, Radio One, Lucky 7 Stores, Kwiksaye and Metro scholarship competition, Carolyn Amon, has hailed sponsors of the promotion saying they have enabled her to upgrade her studies.

By Elizabeth Kameo THE winner of the first New Vision, Radio One, Lucky 7 Stores, Kwiksaye and Metro scholarship competition, Carolyn Amon, has hailed sponsors of the promotion saying they have enabled her to upgrade her studies. Amon, a student from Entebbe, was on Satu-arday receiving a sh600,000 cheque worth of school fees for a year from Radio One's managing director, Maria Kiwanuka. Her winning entry was recently drawn by the Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Rebecca Kadaga. "I was not expecting to win. I am very grateful to the sponsors because they have given me a chance to upgrade my studies so as to get a good job," Amon said. She said she would use the money for computer studies. Kiwanuka said the competition, was to help parents get school fees for their children for this term. "We the sponsors, came up with this promotion to help parents take their children back to school," she said. Other winners included Silver Kabeene of Kireka, Samuel Angura of Army Children's Mbuya.
