Kiwanuka to spice up MUK Open

By William Muwonge NATIONAL player Edward Kiwanuka will lead the challenge at the Makerere Open due March 2-4. Kiwanuka, ranked fourth, is one of several players getting set for the event to be held at Makerere University's Africa Hall. The event, due to be held this weekend, was put off to allow organisers complete preparations. Kiwanuka, seeking a second straight win, beat Martin Olweny in a closely contested final last year. Second ranked Mildred Senyondo is the player to watch in the women's category. The experienced Senyondo won last year's event beating the number three player Diana Namisango. Also expected for action include Monica Kisakye, Rebecca Namubiru, Susan Atai, George Oloya, Julius Omoding, Andrew Gitta. UTTA technical advisor Paul Mutambuze, said over 100 players are expected to enter the event sponsored by Fotogenix (U)Ltd. Ends
