THE public service minister, Amanya Mushega, has defended the May 12 date for the swearing in of the new president.

Mushega said the method was borrowed from America and was meant to enable the out-going president to prepare the office for the in-coming one. Mushega, who is the Igara East MP and head of the Ankole Museveni task force, was meeting LC2 and 3 chairmen, the youth, women leaders and opinion leaders from his constituency to lay strategies for winning in the presidential polls on March 7. He said the Movement Government had done a lot for the people of Uganda and they should reward Museveni by voting him for president on March 7. Ends
