Veterans Paid Sh1.8b

KAMPALA - The Government has released sh1.8b to pay 1,577 UPDF veteran soldiers' gratuity. The payment brings the total number of paid veterans to 30,046 out of the 36,538 demobilised soldiers.

KAMPALA - The Government has released sh1.8b to pay 1,577 UPDF veteran soldiers' gratuity. The payment brings the total number of paid veterans to 30,046 out of the 36,538 demobilised soldiers. According to a press release from the Uganda veterans Assistance Board (UVAB), the veterans paid so far are 82%. The remaining 12% will be paid in due course as their cheques are being processed, the statement said. Ends
