By Dismus Buregyeya THE Masaka district LC5 chairman, Vincent Ssempijja, has attacked the Masaka Municipality mayor, John Tebyasa, saying that he deliberately refused to work for the residents because he hated president Yoweri Museveni and the movement government. Ssempijja accused Matovu of frustrating development in the municipality with intent to tarnish the image of Museveni's government. "All the roads in Masaka town are in a mess. The street lights which blew up a long time ago have not been replaced. Heaps of garbage and a foul stench in the area makes the place so disgusting," he said. Sempijja, was recently reacting to allegations that Matovu and the Kimaanya Kyabakuza division chairman, Vincent Kiggundu, had strongly opposed the proposal by the district council, to reduce monthly taxes for bodaboda riders from sh10,000 to sh5,000. He promised to meet municipal council and division leaders soon to discuss the matter. Sempijja said that he supported Museveni because he is development-oriented and a leader who listens and understands the problems of the oppressed and the minority. He appealed to the public to vote for Museveni to enable him to complete his programmes and last term of office peacefully. Ends
