By Josephine Maseruka Uganda's ambassador to the United Nations, Prof. Ssemakula Kiwanuka, has challenged candidate Col. Kizza Besigye to bring recorded evidence that he supported the federal system of government during the Constituent Assembly. Ssemakula also described Besigye's promise of federo to Buganda as "mere lies to woo votes." Ssemakula was on Sunday campaigning for candidate Yoweri Museveni at a rally in Gayaza, Wakiso district. Ssemakula, whose address was interrupted with the "No change" slogan, said of Besigye, "How can he be excused when his manifesto is silent on federo? Don't be used and deceived by selfish people." He added, "Where was he at the Kabaka' s coronation at Naggalabi and during the royal wedding preparations? Isn't he fooling Baganda?" Ssemakula also said, "If Besigye is to remove graduated tax, where will Mengo establishment get the funds for maintaining a federal system." Minister Kisamba Mugerwa said he was sure Museveni would win. Ends
