PANIC gripped a rally being addressed by Maj. Gen. Salim Saleh in Kalisizo, Rakai, on Monday, when a man driving a car pasted with Col. Kizza Besigye's posters drove into the crowd.
The incident took place at about 7:30pm in front of Ziriddamu bar.
The driver, Peter Lwanga, had been seen driving a UAD 809C Starlet in the convoy following Saleh.
Saleh, who was shaking hands with fans and army officers, jumped to safety as Lwanga drove around the screaming crowds.
Lt. Col. Elly Kayanja ordered the arrest of Lwanga as President Museveni's supporters attempted to lynch Lwanga. But other supporters pleaded for Lwanga, saying he was part of them.
