Presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye's office has written to the Inspector General of police, John Kisembo, to investigate the planned massive rigging in today's election, reports Juliet Nankinga. "The elect Besigye task force has received reliable and crucial information which we would like you to investigate since we believe that this is the final master plan by the incumbent's task force," the letter signed by Ann Mugisha, the task force publicity chief, said. The letter, which was faxed to The New Vision, claimed that an extra 4.5 million votes were to be added on to the rest. They alleged that a fleet of buses had been hired to ferry President Yoweri Museveni's supporters from Kampala after voting so that they can vote again in their home districts. The force said a type of ink that is easily washed off the thumb was to be used, to enable the ferried voters cast votes in other areas. A Kampala businessman from Bushenyi district, was named to be the fina-ncier of the operation and a Lt. Col. was named to be in charge of transport. The letter also claimed that the army has been deployed to bar people from voting freely and that the army was depl-oyed where Besigye has a stronghold. Ends
