A Prayer for the Nation

Father Lord you alone are holy, mighty and loving. We thank you that at last March 12, is here. The day that is expected with a mixture of emotions. Many are hoping against hope, and Budgeting the unbudgetable, Having promised the unpromisable, and Showing as possible the practically impossible. Inhabit our hearts as we hold our breath and await Dwell in us Father Lord and bless us with patience. We are done with running, shouting, singing and dancing. Indwell us Father Lord as we make a choice We do this trusting in your own guidance. We are faced with six contestants, Help us to judge, evaluate, analyse and choose. Not through our mouths or stomachs but through our mental faculties. All the contestants are compatriot, confident and content. Their eyes are set and focused on the State House. Unfortunately, Uganda needs only ONE President! Just as good sportsmen accept defeat, So should candidates of substance. Equip the losers with acceptance. Enable them to concede failure without crying foul. Remind us all that many will be called but few will be chosen. And that good leaders are made in heaven.
