By Emmy Allio PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni will not yield to pressure from his supporters to contest in the 2006 presidential elections, his press secretary Hope Kivengere said yesterday. "The President is often urged to try a third term by his supporters whenever he travels and meets people," she said. Kivengere was referring to Mbarara LC5 chief Fred Kamugira and Rushere LC1 boss Fred Tindimutunga who asked Museveni to stand again. The media yesterday quoted the leaders as saying although a third term was unconstitutional, the law could be changed. "The President is clear on this point. He said he is preparing the Movement for change of leadership. He absolutely has no plans to contest again," Kivengere said. "We ask you kindly to give us another chance to vote for you, this time overwhelmingly, because of the good work government has done," Tindimutunga was quoted as saying. Ends
