Namugongo Martyrs S.S. tops O'level results

A survey by The New Vision among a dozen schools which registered over 100 candidates, showed all Namugongo's 148 students in division one. But it had no candidate among the top five students in Mpigi district.
Mt. St. Mary's College Namagunga, which produced the top five students in Mukono district, came second with 144 of the 145 candidates in division one and the other in division two.
St. Mary's College Kisubi which produced the best five candidates in Mpigi, came third with 154 of the 159 candidates in division one and the rest in division two.
Kibuli S.S. with 165 of the 177 candidates in division one came fourth. Kibuli had the remaining students in second division.
The computations were based on a formula similar to that used by the Uganda national Examinations Board (UNEB) in ranking schools and students. The board stopped ranking schools three years ago.
King's College Budo with 158 of the 169 candidates in first division ranked fifth. The school registered 10 students in second division and the other in third.
The order of performance in the other schools were as follows; Makerere College with 183 candidates had 168 in division one, 12 in division two, two in division three and one division four.
Namilyango College with 188 candidates had 167 in division one, 18 in division two and three in division three. Of the 150 candidates who sat from Ntare School, 128 passed in division one and the others in second division.
