Residents of Najjembe sub-county, Mukono district have appealed to the Government to curb the rampant theft of cattle in the area, reports Nicholas Kajoba.

Residents of Najjembe sub-county, Mukono district have appealed to the Government to curb the rampant theft of cattle in the area, reports Nicholas Kajoba. Over 15 cows were stolen in the past two weeks in the sub-county by unidentified people. The LC1 chairman of Buvunya village, Mr. Alex Isabirye, told The New Vision that their area had five cows stolen over the weekend. "We lost over five cows in my village and other people are also complaining of the same thing. We appeal to the Government to come out and curb cattle theft,'' he said. Other villages which lost over five cows in weekend invasion are Konko and Konke in Najjembe sub-county. Residents of the area said the thieves use Fuso trucks to collect the cows from different villages at night. No arrests have been made by the Police. Ends
