Budo's Best Boy Advises Parents

Busingye Kabumba, 18, from King's College Budo, said he was pleasantly surprised to know he was the best student in arts in A' Level in Uganda.

By John Odyek Busingye Kabumba, 18, from King's College Budo, said he was pleasantly surprised to know he was the best student in arts in A' Level in Uganda. He got A history, economics, literature and divinity and a D2 in general paper. He loves writing, reading, visiting, making friends, swimming, music, chess. "I was worried I had not performed so well. Thank God I succeeded," he said. He advised parents not to feel sad if their children did not succeed and not to over-rejoice if they succeeded. He advised upcoming candidates to plan their studies, act intellectually and know themselves. His father, Dr Ijuka Kabumba, said he had to cry in joy after shedding tears of sorrow two months ago over the death of one of his sons. He said his son Rukundo Kabumba, a third-year Law student at Makerere University drowned in Lake Victoria at Bukoba while he had gone to visit friends in Tanzania. Kabumba once taught at Makerere University. His wife, Bazaire, is a headteacher at Kololo SS. Ends
