Parliament Approves Housing Allowances

By John Kakande and Richard Mutumba PARLIAMENT yesterday passed a resolution for the chairpersons and members of the Constitutional Commissions to get housing allowance ranging from sh2m to sh2.2m per month. Parliament also passed the Health Service Commission Bill, 1999. The Bill seeks to make the Health Service Commission in charge of recruitment of health workers and medical professionals. It also institutes a code of conduct for them. The commissions include Public Service, Health Service, Judicial Service, Electoral, Educational Servi-ce, Land, Human Rights, and the Local Government Finance. Ends
