By Richard Otim THE paramount chief of the Itesot, Augustine Kadugala Osuban, has urged Teso and Karamoja leaders to find amicable means of resolving the land dispute between Katakwi and Moroto districts at their border at Alekilek. He was on Thursday addressing members of the Teso-Karamoja Youth Initiative for Peace (TPYIP), who had called on him at Soroti Hotel to brief him on their findings in Karamoja. Osuban said a confrontational approach would not solve the dispute and could only lead to a fresh blood bath between the two tribes. "I do not believe in the saying that dawa ya moto ni moto (the cure for fire is fire). Peace should prevail over any approach that the two districts will adopt," Osuban said. In the verbal report the TPYIP co-ordinator, Dr. Emmanuel Eriaku, presented to Osuban, the youth said while they were in Karamoja for a security meeting recently, Karimojong leaders vowed to shed blood if that was what was necessary for them to reclaim their land.
