THE recently commissioned Bwera Hospital in Kasese district is facing an acute drug shortage forcing in-patients to abandon the health centre, says Vision Reporter. The medical superintendent, Dr. Amone on Monday confirmed that patients had deserted the hospital due to drug shortage. "The problem is the abolition of cost sharing which led the hospital into a financial crisis," Amone told Bukonzo East MP Mr. Apprunalis Kalibogha Kithende at the hospital recently. He said 50 employees had been laid off because there was no money to pay them. Ends
