By Ahmed Angulibo MR. Andruale Awuzu, the minister of state in charge of transport, has urged Arua residents to vote for people who can work with the government in the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Awuzu also the Vurra county MP, was on Tuesday presiding over the Labour Day celebrations at Adumi sub-county headquarters in Ayivu county, Arua. "Vote for MPs who can support and work with the government. Some people say they want to elect people who can go to argue with President Yoweri Museveni in parliament. Their criticism is useless,'' Awuzu said. He said a meeting with 300 Vurra residents on Monday resolved that he should be returned to parliament unopposed. "The 300 people in Vurra resolved that I should be re-elected to parliament unopposed. They said if any other person wants to contest, they will tell the person to step down,'' he said. It was only in Awuzu's Vurra constituency out of the seven constituencies in Arua district that president Yoweri Museveni won in the recent presidential elections. On the Labour Day's, theme 'Social security for social protection and development' Awuzu said Arua's first social security is food. "Our first social security is food. There should be food in every granary. Others are children and orphans," he said. Ends
