Book Aid Officials Tour Femrite

A Book Aid International (BAI) delegation is in Uganda to get background information on education, library development, publishing, decentralisation, gender and other aid programmes.

Musamali A Book Aid International (BAI) delegation is in Uganda to get background information on education, library development, publishing, decentralisation, gender and other aid programmes. A release issued yesterday by the British Council said the delegation would also identify this year's BAI funded visitor. "The team will gather information on how partners advocate their role and use BAI materials to mobilise resources locally to further develop their services," said the release. The delegation toured the Uganda Women Writers' Association (Femrite) library in Kamwokya to assess the orgainisation's needs and see how best to assist them. Thenny Birungi, director of Public Libraries Board, said the delegation will also tour institutions and secondary school libraries. They will be selecting publishers whose books can be bought and distributed to schools. Ends
