Two men acquitted

KAYUNGA – Two more suspects have been acquitted by the High Court of the charge of aggravated robbery in which over sh200m belonging to Cairo International Bank was robbed in 1998. Those cleared on Monday without making a defence are Salim Matege alias Nsubuga and Alfred Ongany alias Richard Okimondo, a former Group Four employee who was guarding the bank. This brings to four people who have been cleared of the charge. Originally, eight had been indicted for the offence.
