By K. Muhanga A victory party at Kaaro High School in Nyabushozi county on Tuesday turned into a campaign rally with three aspiring parliamentary candidates claiming to be closer to President Yoweri Museveni. Mary Mugyenyi sparked off the fire when she was given the microphone to greet the students and their parents. She said she deserved to be given the votes because she is very close to Museveni and she can work with him for the development of Nyabushozi. Mugyenyi contested in the 1996 parliamentary race but lost to Elly Karuhanga. When Dr. David Kamukama got the chance, he said he is also close to Museveni and that he is his personal friend. "I think if elected, I can develop Nyabushozi because the President is my friend and being a veterinary doctor, I know all the techniques," he said Lt. Col. Fred Mwesigye said if there is any one who knows the President, then he is the one. "I fought alongside with him in the bush war that liberated Uganda. What kind of working relationship is better than that?" he asked. The function almost stopped as the students became rowdy and started shouting the names of their candidate. ends.
