By Amlan Tumusiime GUNFIRE on Friday rocked Bugoma forest in Kyangwali sub-county, Hoima district, as the UPDF soldiers pursued a group of ADF rebels. The rebels who had earlier in the day robbed food from residents and entered the forest. Two rebels were killed during the exchange of fire. Sixty bullets and one gun were also recovered. Security sources said the rebels were about five and seemed to have been new in the area. "We suspect that this is a new group of rebels and most likely they have come from Bundibugyo because they were asking the residents about some people. "They even asked about parents of the girl who was abducted some time back and has never been seen again," a senior security officer told The New Vision. A well placed military source however said the rebels came back that night and took their colleagues' bodies. "The rebels came back the same night and took away the bodies of their colleagues. We did not expect them to come back but when we went back to the forest the following morning to collect the dead bodies we did not find them there," the source said. Kyangwali has been peaceful for over six months since soldiers were deployed in the area. Lt. Col. Phinehas Katirima said, of the incident, "I do not have the details but contact me later." Ends
