TWENTY-ONE candidates will contest the four parliamentary seats in Jinja district, reports Abubaker Mukose.

TWENTY-ONE candidates will contest the four parliamentary seats in Jinja district, reports Abubaker Mukose. Seven candidates are aspiring for the vacant Jinja West seat that fell vacant after veteran politician Henry Kyemba withdrew. Contenders for the seat are the Gadaffi garrison commander and UPDF MP, Lt. Col. Tony Otoa Ogwal alias Isabirye, UYD national chairman, Baswale Mohammed Kezaala, Michael Kasedde, Harry Kasigwa, John Pithy Ndiiko, Dr. Betty Kasanka and Patrick Kafuko. Candidates for the Jinja East seat are incumbent, Daudi Kamusaala, Jinja tycoon, Isa Karakwende (Biashara), Nathan Nabeta, Fred Wagabaza, Eng. Gumula Tibatemwa, Bwoye and the Iganga Speaker, Baite Munobwa, who was nominated after producing signed leave forms. Butembe county incumbent, Daudi Migereko had one opponent, Hannington Baasakana while Taire Idhwege (Kagoma County incumbent) faces four opponents. They are Charles Buyinza, Christopher Tusubira, Moses Batwala and Dr. Frank Nabwiso. Ends
