Pallisa to get sh1.3b

By Jonathan Angura Sub-counties in Pallisa district are to receive sh1.3b in the next financial year for the implementation of development projects under the Local Government Development Programme (LGDP). however, the district, should raise sh154m in local revenue as a pre-condition to counter-fund the programme. in a recent meeting with the district executive committee members, departmental heads, LC3 chairpersons, sub-county chiefs and their accountants the district chairman, Dr. Laban Kirya, said the sub-counties must have vibrant technical planning committees for the proper utilisation of the funds to benefit all the sub-county residents. The next financial year starts on July 1 and under the LGDP, development funds will be channeled directly to the sub-counties for project implementation. Pallisa district has 21 sub-counties and Pallisa Town Council. Kirya called upon the LC3 chairpersons to monitor the LGDP funded projects. Ends
