By Vision Reporters Lira Municipality MP Cecilia Atim Ogwal excited her supporters when she arrived for nomination in style accompanied by her husband, Mr. Lameck Ogwal. Ogwal, who arrived at the nomination office at 9:55am on Monday, caused excitement when her supporters welcomed her singing the 'no change' slogan copied from President Yoweri Museveni. Fourteen parliamentary candidates, two of them women, were on Monday nominated to contest in the six constituencies in Lira district. Two of the aspirants, Richard Omacara from Moroto and Milton Odongo from Otuke stepped down in favour of George Olwit and incumbent Daniel Omara-Atubo respectively. Lira business tycoon, Sam Engola, was the first to be nominated at 9.00am followed by his rival, Mrs. Cecilia Ogwal at 10.00am. The two were accompanied by fleets of trucks full of supporters chanting political slogans in support of their candidates. The RDC, Joseph Arwata, accompanied Engola. After nomination, Ogwal lodged a complaint to the returning officer accusing Arwata of intimidating her supporters. Ends
