Hawker faces theft charge

Jinja – A 20-year-old hawker was on Wednesday charged with stealing property worth over sh1.8m from a vehicle. Fred Mutaka, a resident of Walukuba, denied the charges before Magistrate Agnes Nkonge. State prosecutor Arthur Masaba said the accused and others still at large, committed the offence on Rippon East Road on April 26. Mutaka allegedly broke into a vehicle, stole a brief case containing 700 dollars, two South African passports and travellers cheques. Ends
