By Nasur Wambede A housewife in Zesui, Sironko was caught by her husband 'stealing' matoke from their own plantation. The couple had complained of thieves stealing their matooke. Last Saturday, after grazing the cattle, the man decided to go and hide in the banana plantation. His wife, who had left home in the morning, had said she was going to visit her aunt in Bulago. On reaching the plantation, Peter, the husband, heard somebody cutting a banana tree. He decided to hide and catch the thief. He took one look at the 'thief' and was stunned. It was none other than his wife. The man lost his temper and started beating her. She admitted that she was the one who had been stealing the matoke and selling it. She pleaded to he husband to forgive her and explained that she always sold the matoke to buy salt, paraffin and other necessities which they were using in the home. On hearing this, the man stopped beating her realising that it was his mistake not to look after his home properly. Ends
