By Reuben Olita in Nairobi FORMER Kenya premier league champions AFC Leopards closed in on leaders Mumias Sugar when they beat Kisumu Telkom 2-1 in their weekend league match overshadowed by the African Nations cup qualifier encounter between Harambee Stars and Morocco that ended in a 1-all draw in Nairobi. The 1998 champions dislodged Oserian Fastac, who had no weekend assignment owing to their three-match tour of Uganda, from second position with 29 points from 15 matches, one point more than Oserian who have played only 10 matches. Mumias, whose 4-1 drubbing by Chemelil Sugar on May 26 was most devastating, still remained on top of the league standing with 30 points from 15 matches. Tusker, who made a painful exit from the Champions League at the expense of Esperance of Tunisia on away goal rule, were held to a surprise 2-2 draw by lowly Brooke Bond of Kericho to drop from position four to five with 24 points from 10 matches. However, Oserian and Tusker remained the only unbeaten sides with Oserian's goalkeeper Noah Ayuku the best custodian for conceding only two goals. The 20-team league has realised 306 goals scored with Mumias leading the chart with 24 goals, two more than enterprising Kisima Bombers. Mark Sirengo of Mumias remained the highest marksman with 15 goals. He's followed by Kisima Bombers' Manasses Imbo with eight. Ends
