With the teams level at 1-1, Philip Ssozi headed in the decisive goal after 85 minutes at Namboole. Villa are in sixth position with 20 points from eight games. Heroes are a step ahead with 21 points. Andrew Mukasa, scorer of the opening goal, set up Ssozi from the left for the winner that sunk Heroes who played their best game in recent days. Prolofic striker Mukasa, the league top scorer over the last two years, had found the net in the 28th minute. Substitute Julius Kibombo had put Heroes level after a move launched from the halfway line on 56 minutes. Villa who lacked first team players - Timothy Batabaire, Hakim Magumba and James Kayimba through injury were less than impressive, a factor coach Paul Hasule admitted. "This is one of those days when things do not work out well, but we are glad we won," Hasule one time Mbale Heroes player said. Heroes coach Charles Namakola blamed the defeat on FIFA referee Arthur Bukenya. "Bukenya let Mukasa cross the ball after pushing my defender, he is always biased against us," Namakola said. Some Heroes officials were restrained from attacking Bukenya. Elsewhere, Iganga drew goalless with visiting Masaka LC. In Kakyeka stadium, George Otika scored for Police in the third minute before Toto Songe put Mbarara level with a fine shot in the 11th minute. Police fired tear gas to disperse Mbarara fans who attempted to assault assistant referee Tamale Ssali. r FUFA will tomorrow meet the new five-man Cranes coaching panel and national selection board at at Nakulabye. Chris Kalibbala, secretary to the selection board said yesterday that federation spokesman Godfrey Kisekka would meet the two groups and hand over terms of reference. "We have a meeting with FUFA secretary Kisekka. It will also act as the official inauguration of the coaches' panel and selection board. We shall take a lot on how Cranes should be set up," said Kalibbala. FUFA took an unusual step to replace fired Nigerian coach Harrison Okagbue by naming a 10-man team to handle national side, after it was disbanded last weekend. Okagbue, sacked following Uganda's 3-0 defeat to Togo in their last Africa Nations Cup qualifier, yesterday left for a two-week holiday in Enugu Town. The 10-man coaching staff has been divided into two, with five engaged in coaching and the rest as selectors. Paul Hasule, Charles Namakola, Muhammed Segonga, Leo Adraa and Jimmy Muguwa will coach Cranes. Asumani Lubowa, Sam Kabugo, Tom Lwanga, Crispus Muyinda, Robert Aloro and Chris Kalibbala are on the selection board. The panel will name a squad for a friendly against Iran and the Four-Nation Castle lager cup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in October.
