'Dead Thugs Were Army Men'

By Vision Reporter The Police have identified two of the thugs killed in Monday's shootout as either army deserters or war veterans. They said most of the people engaged in robbery in Kampala have a military background. The outgoing O/C Anti-robbery Mackmot Okello told a press conference yesterday that they had discovered that the deceased thug who had an identity card with the name Tony Golooba was Lt. John Mugaba. It is not yet clear if he was a deserter or veteran. Okello said the other thug identified as Kazibwe is also said to have been a soldier. Ends
