Gombe SS starts strongly

GOMBE SS, started well in her title defence in the national post primary schools netball championship at Kololo SSS, Kampala.

Hosts Kololo also had mixed fortunes among its two teams winning three games and losing one in the two-day championship that attracted 67 teams pooled under 12 groups and ending today. Kololo headmistress Kabumba Bazaire praised Coca-Cola customer services manager Kennedy Mutenyo for 10 crates of soda given to Kololo teams on top of other facilities. NCS gave 18 netballs to organisers. Gombe, Kololo and Kibuli are fielding two teams each in the competition. The top two teams in each group and the best eight losers qualify to today's second round. The quarterfinals, semi-finals and final take place today. Gombe won four straight games and topped group A. Ends
