Polling started on schedule in most parts of Arua district with malpractices reported in Arua municipality and in Maracha county, reports Jimmy Adriko. The Police is holding at least six people for election malpractices in Arua. In Arua municipality, the race is between Mayor Nasur Okuti and Innocent Nyakuta, the rastafarian while Joram Ajeani, the incumbent MP, is trailing. Dick Nyai, the incumbent Ayivu county MP, and Bakoko Bakoru are running neck and neck. Vote counting is going on amidst heavy rain which started at around 5:00pm. Francis Ayume, the Speaker of Parliament, voted at Lobule Primary School at 12:10pm while his wife Elizabeth voted in town. In Maracha and Vura counties, there were unconfirmed allegations of malpractices. In Arua town, the anti-riot Police are patrolling the town for fear of clashes between the Ayivu and the Aringa community. The Ayivu are backing Nyakuta while the Aringa and the Muslim community are believed to backing the Mayor. Ends
