Igara East parliamentary election loser Spencer Turwomwe has petitioned the Electoral Commission, saying the elections were rigged, writes Raynel Kanyambu. A June 27 letter to the Commission chairman states that the declared winner, Dr. Richard Nduhura, should be disqualified because he voted at two polling stations. In the letter, Turwomwe said on the eve of the elections, Nduhura's agent, Eldard Rwabajungu, and Byaruhanga, in Nduhura's personal vehicle Reg. UAB 670M, were arrested by the Police in Kyabugimbi bribing voters. The two cases were registered at Bushenyi Police Station, the letter said. Turwomwe, the former national campaigner for presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye, polled 12,692 against Nduhura's 13,370. He won in Bushenyi Town council, Bumbeire and Kyabugimbi, but lost in only Kyeizooba. He also requested for a recount of the votes from Kyeizooba. Ends
