AT LEAST two people died and 13 others were critically injured on Saturday when their commuter taxi overturned at Lubowa on the Kampala-Entebbe highway, reports Geoffrey Kamali.
The accident occurred as the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and lost control trying to avoid a head-on collision with an on-coming truck, the Police said.
"He (driver) tried to overtake but his speed was very high. It was a horrible crash," a witness said.
One of the dead was identified as Moses Richard Sserunjoji, a resident of Katabi. The identity of the second victim, a boy, as well as those injured could not be established immediately. The group is said to have been coming from a funeral in Masaka.
