By Faustine Likabane The Chief Magistrate's Court in Tororo has directed the Returning Officer, Sylvester Oboth, to carry out a recount of the ballots of the women parliamenmtary elections of the district. The exercise is to be conducted tomorrow afternoon at the court chambers. The incumbent MP, Dorothy Samali Hyuha, had retained the seat after getting 3,348 votes, beating her two opponents, eresi Awori Othieno who got 3,141 and Kezia Ochwo with 2,800 votes. Awori cited many alleged cases of mulpractices, bribery, intimidation and beating of voters before deciding to challenge the results. Represented by Natsomi and Wandera Advocates, awori told court that there are many parishes in Bunyole County where the votes casted exceeded the registered voters. She said there was swapping of results of several parishes in the district in favour of Hyuha. In a copy of the results which The New Vision saw, Butaleja parish in Bunyole county showed 153 names in the register but 197 votes were counted. Ends
