DARE DEVIL: A boy climbing the metallic frame of the seven-metre high Kazinga Channel bridge, Katunguru in Kasese district last Saturday. A boy nicknamed Ninja had an argument with his fellow teen-age friends that he could dive from the top of the bridge into the water below. He said that was a very simple thing to do. His friends challenged him that nobody had ever done that before. He asked them for sh1000 if they wanted to see him do it. After they had given it to him, he scaled the bridge, and let go in a breath-taking swoop and sailed through the air and dived smarttly into the water below. He was not hurt but came out of the water staggering although he said he was fine. There was nobody guarding this bridge and if this develops into a game, it is going to result in a fatal accident. It took guts even to watch the young boy air-borne. The performance was too scaring for comfort. it is imperative that this bridge be guarded otherwise it is going to be a booby trap for youngsters
