Prof. Ernest Wamba dia Wamba, the leader of Congolese rebel group, RCD-Kisangani has met Congolese president Joseph Kabila in Tanzania over the Congo peace process.
The meeting on Wednesday last week took place moments after Kabila and President Yoweri Museveni met under the chairmanship of Tanzanian president Benjamin Mkapa.
"It is true Mzee (Wamba) met Kabila in Dar-es-Salaam.
This was the second time. They discussed the process towards the holding of the Inter-Congolese Dialogue," said a member of Wamba's cabinet in Kampala yesterday.
Meanwhile, RCD-Kisangani is in serious power wrangles as three people vie to topple Wamba.
A two-week conference in Bunia, DR Congo, ended on June 30 with the participants drafting a new constitution and changing the name of the group from RCD-K to RCD Kisangani Movement for Liberation.
Roger Lumbala, whose RCD-National was dissolved wants to lead the Bunia-based rebel group. Other candidates are John Tibasima Atenyi and Toma Lohaka.
