Miss Uganda: 19 days to go

Residents who live down Ggaba road would have noticed the road works currently underway. Reason? Its because Speke Resort, Munyonyo, is now firing on all four cylinders.

Residents who live down Ggaba road would have noticed the road works currently underway. Reason? Its because Speke Resort, Munyonyo, is now firing on all four cylinders. The resort has just hosted the UNICEF international conference, Miss Uganda will take place there on August 4, the Smart Partnerships with 18 Heads of State (including Malaysian Prime Minister) is coming up soon from August 18 and the annual Goat Race is slated for September 1. By the time the Miss Uganda finals take place, the stretch of road from Cape to Speke Resort would be tarmacked. Meanwhile, with just 19 days to go before the Miss Uganda finals at Munyonyo, preparations for the event continue to move into high gear. On July 30, a team from Gear House Lighting, based in South Africa, will jet into the country bringing with them lighting well worth over $13,000. Gear House Lighting is no small time company. Their portfolio to date is impressive. They have done the lighting for M-Net Face of Africa, Miss Malaika and some of the Lucky Dube concerts in South Africa. Expect some flashy displays. Ends
