By Vision Reporter The International Care and Relief (ICR), an NGO, has donated 25 bicycles worth sh2.35m to Kisubi Hospital. The bicycles are to help counsellors visit people living with HIV/AIDS in their homes. ICR's programme support manager, Solomon Remmy, handed over the bicycles to the hospital administrator, Sister Christine Kizza, at Kisubi last week. Remmy told The New Vision that the bicycles were to help the counsellors carry out community services. "We trained these counsellors to become trainers of trainers within the community. They were trained in skills on people living with HIV/AIDS. They will use these bicycles to carry out lessons and also visit the sick," he said. He said the bicycles will be used in the sub-counties of Busiro South constituency. They are Ssisa, Katabi and Kasangye. Remmy said the donation falls under ICR's obligation to build the capacity of communities to handle HIV/AIDS through the training of community volunteer counsellors. Ends
