By Emmy Allio Brig. Ivan Koreta, the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) director general, is set to go for a one-year top military course in Nigeria in September. Military sources yesterday said Koreta will train at Nigeria’s prestigious National Defence College, the top military academy on the continent. Sources said the army chose Koreta for the course after several other names were considered. Koreta’s departure from ISO has now led to speculations about an impending reshuffle by President Yoweri Museveni in the security organisations. Sources said the two-year contract for Koreta, who was appointed ISO boss in October 1998 together with his colleagues in the External Security Organisation (ESO), was not extended since it expired in October last year. Sources said Koreta’s colleagues in ESO had their contracts renewed by a year. But state minister for security Muruli Mukasa yesterday dismissed speculations of an imminent reshuffle. Ends
