A TEAM of officials from the Uganda Local Authorities Association (ULAA) is set to reconcile

By James Bakunzi A TEAM of officials from the Uganda Local Authorities Association (ULAA) is set to reconcile the two warrying factions in Mpigi town council. ULAA secretary general Raphael Magyezi told The New Vision at the weekend that a team of officials will visit Mpigi town council “in an effort to resolve the long standing disagreements among mayor Lumu Mazuuku, town clerk David Kiwanuka and Mpigi councillors.” “Most politicians and the technical staff have failed to know their roles hence wrangling. We therefore need to teach them about their roles,” Magyezi said. He said the association is to organise a series of workshops to sensitise each side about its role. LC5 chairman Levi Zzimbe recently called on all parties to solve their differences. He urged councillors to work for unity and development of the area. He said the district technical workers should cooperate with policy makers to ensure development and harmony.
